Be aware that when certain conductive objects are placed on the front passenger seat, the front passenger airbag indicator may also illuminate. If the customer checks the PPS display, they will notice that the passenger seat belt indicator is illuminated. Some customers may comment about five slow chimes, with no obvious reason.

This TSB applies to a range of GM vehicles where the PPS (passenger presence system) may command the seat belt reminder chime and passenger airbag indicator on, when electronic devices or conductive objects are placed on the front passenger seat.
